The Essex Resort & Spa is seeking an Assistant Spa Manager to help lead our Spa team. This is an exciting opportunity to support a thriving, guest-focused environment while helping shape the daily flow, culture and success of one of Vermont’s top spa destinations.

As Assistant Spa Manager, you’ll play a key role in delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests while supporting a talented team of massage therapists, estheticians, nail technicians, front desk associates and spa attendants. This position combines hands-on leadership with the opportunity to influence operations, drive service excellence and help shape the guest journey from start to finish.

What You’ll Do:

• Support the Spa Director in daily spa operations, ensuring a welcoming, professional and tranquil environment for guests and staff.
• Lead and motivate the Spa Concierge team—supporting scheduling, training and performance.
• Assist with managing treatment room flow, daily scheduling and operational logistics.
• Deliver exceptional guest service and resolve concerns with professionalism and care.
• Help maintain product inventory, retail displays and merchandising.
• Monitor spa cleanliness, ambiance and standards to ensure a best-in-class experience.
• Support staff communication, coaching, morale and culture-building.
• Assist with promoting spa services, packages, specials and seasonal offerings.
• Participate in recruiting, onboarding and ongoing training of spa team members.

What You Bring:

• Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a spa, wellness center, salon or hospitality setting.
• A passion for guest service and delivering wellness-focused experiences.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Positive, team-focused energy and the ability to motivate others.
• Comfort working a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• A calming, solutions-oriented approach when supporting guests and team members.
