The Diabetes, Obesity and Complications Therapeutic Area (DOCTA) of Eli Lilly and Company, focuses on the discovery and early phase clinical development of biologic, small molecule, oligonucleotide, and cell therapies for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease and associated metabolic disorders. Our focus is the patient: by understanding the biology and pathophysiology underlying disease states, we aim to address the root cause of disease and develop breakthrough therapies. The Preclinical Diabetes Boston DOCTA group is an in-vivo team focused on developing cell therapy approaches to treating diabetes. Based in Boston MA, the preclinical team performs in-vivo proof of concept and efficacy studies in collaboration with a multidisciplinary research team. We are seeking a highly motivated, early career scientist to join our collaborative and enthusiastic preclinical team. If you are team-oriented, excited to learn, and driven to advance life-changing medicines, join our team today! **Responsibilities:** + Execute rodent studies as part of a collaborative in-vivo team. + Perform in-vivo activities including monitoring, dosing, surgery, surgical support, sample collection, and ex vivo analyses. + Make observations, evaluate data, interpret results, and document in a well-maintained laboratory notebook. + Demonstrate understanding and application of relevant scientific literature. + Participate in the coordination of assigned research with other teams as necessary to ensure the completion of the team's research projects. + Comply with standard laboratory practices and company policies **Basic Requirements:** + Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, molecular biology, animal sciences, neuroscience, or similar discipline. + 1+ year experience in performing in-vivo rodent studies **Additional Skills/Preferences:** + Outstanding interpersonal skills and established collaborative work habits. + Proven ability to work independently as well as within a flexible team-oriented environment. + Demonstrated oral and written communication skills and time management. + Prior experience with rodent surgery, blood collection, and tissue harvesting is highly desirable. **Additional Information:** + Travel 0-5 % + Cambridge/Boston, MA + The physical demands of this job are consistent with a lab environment Lilly is dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities to actively engage in the workforce, ensuring equal opportunities when vying for positions. The anticipated wage for this position is $71,250 - $187,000 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
