Job Description

We are currently searching for a Prototype Technician with 2+ years of experience for a contract-to-direct opportunity in the Romeo, MI area. You will have automotive, motorcycle, or tractor mechanic skills; or experience testing automotive components in a test lab environment.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for learning inflator prototype procedures, equipment and products to support engineering and prototype objectives
• Set up, operate, clean, maintain prototype equipment, including basic preventative maintenance
• Assist the Materials Manager with materials planning and ensuring the availability of minimum inventory levels for prototypes and engineering needs at all times.
• Inspect, organize and label incoming materials ensuring the supplier information and part number matches the product as required per the drawings/specifications.
• Complete non-conforming reports for quality review with the supplier/engineering.
• Ability to review and understand technical documents including drawings, standard operating procedures and work instructions.
• Ensures that laboratory areas and evaluation areas are kept clean and free of all safety hazards
• Conducts all tests in a professional and safe manner

Education:

• High School Diploma, Associate or Trade School degree, or equivalent experience
