We are now holding interviews for qualified English teachers to teach at our primary schools in the vibrant city of Shenzhen. We offer a combination of the highest educational standards and our classes encourage children to explore, participate and cooperate in a caring and supportive teaching environment. Teachers will be teaching a maximum of 18 hours per week from Monday to Friday with weekends off. Class size ranges from 20 to 30 students. You will make use of a variety of engaging teaching materials and methods including group work, music, activities, performances and much more.

Teach English in Shenzhen

Shenzhen is located in the southern portion of the Guangdong Province, on the eastern shore of the Pearl River Delta. Neighboring the Pearl River Delta and Hong Kong (located just south of Shenzhen), Shenzhen’s location gives it a geographical advantage for economic development. In 1980, the first Special Economic Zone of China was built in Shenzhen. From then on, Shenzhen become a highlighted city of China, one known for its rapid economic growth.

Shenzhen is considered as one of the richest cities in the country which offers foreigners a great insight into contemporary China. From a small fishing village 30 years ago, Shenzhen has turned into a city filled with dynamic energy and on its way to becoming a world-class metropolis. Shenzhen is also known for its famous architecture, bars, restaurants, art scenes and shopping areas.

Main Responsibilities

-Maximum of 18 teaching hours per week
-Monday to Friday schedule with weekends off
-Student age: primary school
-Class size: 20 to 30
-Plan and implement lessons that are developmentally appropriate
-Participate in parent meetings, training opportunities, and other staff meetings
-Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 15 – 18,000 RMB per month depending on qualifications, experience and location
-Relocation support: airfare and visa reimbursement up to 10,000 RMB
-Onboarding assistance: airport pickup, hotel booking, help with finding accommodation,
and assistance with setting up bank accounts, credit cards, and medical checks
-Professional support: ongoing professional development and opportunities to participate
in school events
-Contract renewal bonus: 5,000 RMB
-Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical check-up upon arrival
-Visa: full support with obtaining a ‘Z’ work visa

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree or above required
-TEFL / CELTA / teaching license certificate (No TEFL? We recommend INTESOL )
-Native English speaker from UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland & South Africa
-Previous English or sports teaching experience with young learners required
-Background or talent in sports is preferred (eg basketball, football, track & field, PE)
-Cultural sensitivity, awareness, and willingness to explore other cultures
