The Employment Development Department (EDD) is looking for a highly motivated team player to join the Personnel Management Group (PMG).

This position performs human resources duties that include review of counseling and disciplinary documentation and providing consultation and advice to departmental managers/supervisors and guiding them through all stages of the progressive discipline process. The Personnel Management Consultant also builds working relationships with staff in the Labor Relations and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office. Working Conditions

Visa Sponsorship

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.

We are currently on a hybrid telework schedule of in office 2 days per week. Per the Governor's recent directive, all state employees will be in office 4 days per week effective July 1, 2025.

Statement of Qualifications Requirements

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is REQUIRED.  The SOQ serves as documentation of each candidate's ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing.

A Statement of Qualifications is REQUIRED. Failure to submit Statement of Qualifications, or failure to follow the instructions may result in your disqualification. In up to two pages (12 point  Arial or Calibri font, with no smaller than 1 inch margins), respond to the following questions. Respond to each question separately, and number your responses:

 1. How do you prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate completion?

 2. Describe your approach to providing excellent customer service. Provide an example of a time you exceeded customer expectations.

Your SOQ will be considered the first phase of the hiring process for this position. If your qualifications are competitive, you may be invited to an interview.
