We have both a technology arm that develops decentralized finance technology, and an asset management arm that creates and manages tokenized funds. We were the first company to tokenize exposure to US Treasuries, and have since expanded into several other assets. About the role

We are seeking our first Data Scientist to spearhead our data and analytics initiatives at Ondo Finance. This key position will focus on building comprehensive on-chain analytics infrastructure, developing data pipelines, and delivering actionable insights across our product suite including tokenized treasuries, equities, ETFs, and Ondo Chain. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in web3 technologies, particularly DeFi, with strong analytical capabilities and experience in data visualization.

Working with blockchain data tools like Dune and Flipside, you'll establish robust systems for tracking market trends, competitor activity, and smart contract volumes. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency in Python, SQL, and R, but also the ability to communicate complex findings effectively to stakeholders. This is an opportunity to shape the data foundation of a leading organization in tokenized real-world assets.

Target Outcomes

• Establish comprehensive onchain analytics infrastructure for tracking and analyzing tokenized treasury products and bridge volumes

• Develop robust data visualization and reporting systems to provide actionable insights for business decisions

• Create and maintain efficient data pipelines for monitoring competitor activity and market trends

• Implement automated tracking systems for market maker distributions and smart contract volumes

Responsibilities

• Be our first data scientist - lead all efforts to track and measure Ondo on-chain and off-chain data and and analytics across products like Ondo tokenized equities & ETFs, USDY, OUSG and Ondo Chain

• Be an onchain data wizard - you should already be deep in Dune, Flipside, block explorers, Birdeye/Dexscreener APIs, CEX APIs

• Monitor and analyze relevant competitive and industry data

• Develop and maintain client-side analytics Ondo web products

• Have strong opinions on data infrastructure stack including BI tools/data visualizations, event tracking, ETL, data warehousing and feature flags/AB tests.

• Support onchain accounting processes and operations automation

• Generate data-driven insights for marketing, external presentations, and strategic planning

Requirements

• 3-4 years of experience as a Data Scientist and/or Data Analyst

• 1+ year(s) as a Data Scientist at a web3/crypto company or demonstrated experience working with blockchain data and web3 technologies

• Strong proficiency in writing complex queries, statistical analysis and programming languages such as Python, SQL and R

• Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies

• Web3 product sense - you are a active user

• Experience with and knowledge of DeFi

• Strong proficiency in data visualization tools and BI platforms

• Experience with ETL processes and data pipeline development

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders

Nice to haves

• Public dashboards on Dune, Flipside or other open-source web3 data visualization platforms

• Understands concepts at the intersection of on-chain data and DeFi like risk modeling, collateral ratios, MEV, oracle data feeds

• Familiarity with market making and trading systems
