Responsibilities - Monitor Daily Census Data and record 24/7 productivity stats
- Serve as Medical Record/Transcription liaison for onsite physician(s)
- Provide one-on-one support to provider(s) on daily census caseload to include rounders, admitter, nocturnist base
- Act as the on-call coordinator for backup staffing
- Coordinate the Office Fax filing and delegate to physician(s)
- Perform onsite reviews with physician(s) with follow-up post DC labs and culture reports to secure OP treatment plan. Follow up with PCP as recommended by hospitalist.
- Provide routine computer, printer, and Fax maintenance checks.
- Order office supplies to secure operational support
- Serve as the official TER death certificate registrar in representation (Provider PIN assigned hospitalist service).
- Support provider(s) in death certificate review and death summary completion
- Act as liaison with funeral home referrals
- Secure correct delegation to hospitalist service
- Perform weekly doctor census handoff · Complete discharge reporting
- Coordinate hospitalist provider scheduling via the scheduling platform
- Provide scheduling data to university for budgeting and payroll purposes
- Run various reports out of Epic to help with provider and scheduling efficiency.
- Represent the department and ensure a caring and professional attitude.
- Strive to perform all job duties and responsibilities to meet the needs and expectations of all UT Health customers.
- Maintain safe and clean working environment for staff by training to comply with all safety procedures, rules and regulations.
- Share knowledge willingly and provide clinical orientation to other potential members of the Hospitalist department.
- Train to ensure the safety, privacy and comfort of patients. · Adapt and adhere to facility and department policies and procedures.
- Communicate and report to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with hospital policy.
- Trains staff to preserve and protect patient’s confidentiality in all situations and with all documentation.
- Maintain consistent and reliable attendance in accordance with UT Health attendance policy.
- Demonstrate professionalism by being punctual and dependable for assigned shifts.
- Ensure all staff maintain their annual education requirements which includes ACE online learning and Apex.
- Act as a resource for the staff and ensure competencies are completed for all staff.
- Assist with the development and collection of data for quality improvement.
- Be willing to address potential personnel issues as needed according to HR policies
Qualifications Job Requirements:
- High school diploma required.
- One to Three years of healthcare related experience
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in related Health Science field or LVN certification preferred.
- Epic experience preferred
