Job Title: Certified Medical Coder
Location: Houston, TX 77024
Duration: 12 Weeks
Schedule: 08:00 AM – 05:00 PM (Day Shift)
Pay Rate: $30–$32/hr
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Coder to review clinical documentation and assign accurate ICD-9-CM and CPT codes. The ideal candidate will support billing, reporting, research, and compliance initiatives by ensuring all coding practices meet regulatory and organizational standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview clinical documentation and diagnostic reports to extract relevant coding information.
Assign accurate ICD-9-CM and CPT codes in accordance with established guidelines.
Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-9-CM Official Coding Guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Maintain adherence to internal policies and procedures.
Collaborate with clinical staff to clarify documentation when necessary.
Support audits, reporting, and research through precise and timely coding.
Participate in ongoing training to remain current with coding standards and best practices.
Proven experience in ICD-9-CM and CPT coding.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures.
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
Strong communication and documentation abilities.
Active coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
