Job Title: CA - Oncology Data Specialist

Job Description:
Collect, abstract, and validate oncology-related data from electronic medical records, pathology reports, and clinical documentation.
Ensure compliance with California Cancer Registry (CCR) and National Cancer Database (NCDB) requirements.
Maintain accurate and timely data entry into oncology information systems and registry software.
Collaborate with physicians, tumor registrars, and research teams to ensure data integrity and completeness.
Generate and review statistical reports for internal and external reporting.
Support oncology program accreditation efforts (e.g., CoC, NAPBC).
Participate in continuous quality improvement and audit processes.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Life Sciences, or related field.
Certification (Preferred): Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or eligibility to obtain certification.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in oncology data abstraction, cancer registry, or health data analytics.
Familiarity with AJCC staging, ICD-O coding, SEER guidelines, and CoC standards.
Experience using OncoPlus, CNExT, or other oncology registry software.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
Knowledge of oncology terminology and treatment modalities.
Proficiency in MS Excel, EMR systems, and data management tools.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
