Wheel Remanufacturing Technician – Overnight Shift

Location: Newburgh, NY

Pay: $20/hour

Schedule: 3 pm starting schift

Overnight shift with overtime required

As a Wheel Remanufacturing Technician , you’ll work overnight in our Newburgh, NY facility, restoring wheels to like-new condition. You’ll repair cosmetic damage such as curb rash, scrapes, gouges, oxidation, and bent wheels using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and precision techniques.

Key Responsibilities

Repair & Restoration (60%)

  • Inspect wheels for cracks, bends, and other damage
  • Disassemble wheels (remove tires, valve stems, etc.)
  • Clean, sand, and prep wheels for repair
  • Weld, straighten, and apply filler to damaged areas
  • Paint and refinish wheels to match OEM or customer specifications
  • Reassemble and balance wheels using tire changers and wheel balancers

Quality Control & Service Excellence (20%)

  • Perform final inspections to ensure safety and appearance standards
  • Mix paint colors using standard formulas or color charts
  • Operate CNC machines and other specialized equipment

Documentation & Communication (20%)

  • Maintain accurate records of repairs and customer specifications
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for wheel remanufacturing processes
  • Communicate with internal teams and occasionally with customers

Qualifications

  • Training available for candidates eager to learn and grow with us.
  • Previous experience in wheel repair or automotive service preferred
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and painting equipment
  • Ability to work independently and follow safety procedures
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to work overnight shifts and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 65 lbs
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, bending, and squatting
  • Work in a well-ventilated shop environment
  • May be exposed to various weather conditions if mobile

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and geographic location.

The starting compensation is expected to be:

$20/Hourly
