Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled 1st Class Shipfitter with a minimum of 3 years of shipfitting experience . The ideal candidate will perform layout, structural fitting, metric measuring, and cutting with a torch on ships. Candidates must demonstrate their skills through a hands-on craft test . The role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while following shipyard safety standards.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of shipfitting experience
- Ability to pass a hands-on craft test in accordance with craft classification
- Proficiency in structural fitting processes
- Experience cutting steel with a torch
- Strong understanding of shipfitting techniques and best practices
- Ability to accurately perform layout, metric measurements, and cutting
- Knowledge of safety standards and shipyard procedures
- Must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
Key Responsibilities
- Perform layout and structural fitting processes accurately
- Cut materials using a torch
- Measure materials using metric measurements (cm, mm, etc.)
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and specifications
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment
